Mauritius Telecom was awarded the second prize in the public sector category at the Environmental Awards 2023 organised by the Ministry of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change.
MT received this accolade for actions taken to minimise the company’s impact on the environment. These green initiatives included: the replacement of fluorescent lighting with LED, photo-voltaic solutions at several MT sites in an effort to use renewable energy, the harvesting of rainwater at Rose Belle Data Centre as well as the recovery, refurbishment and reuse of STBs to promote circularity.
MT was one of the 14 companies competing in the public sector category.
